Walker "Kangaroo"

Is a vertical aid for practicing walking for severely physically disabled children. It consists of two separate parts. Panties - part for the child is in the form of diaper supplemented straps with button-clasp and secure fastening to the abdomen. Part of the accompaniment consists of a fixed part for his back, the straps are held to the accompaniment so he can simply turn on the straps into the button-clasp that are on the child´s panties. Child"s weight is transferred back to accompaniment. Secure suspension of the child frees up hands of accompaniment and allows doing other tasks. Movements of the pelvis when walking are transmitted from accompaniment to a child that instinctively transfers weight from right foot to the left.

When we pull the lower straps on the back of the child panties (the child is close to the accompaniment) the copying movements of the child pelvis will increase. Very important is a solid set of the straps child. Using “eye of the button-clasp” can change the settings. Children in walker “Kangaroo” feel free and experience feelings of self-walking. Frequent use of walker “Kangaroo” helps to get walking habits.

Later, the aid can be used for skiing or skating (suitable also for severely disabled children).
